The Brookside Theater in Romford is urging funds to replace its windows so it can reopen when it is safe to do so.

The art venue is fully self-funded and struggled to get financial support during the pandemic.

The windows were said to be in poor condition and would need to be replaced if the venue is to reopen if coronavirus restrictions are lifted.

“The windows are in a terrible state of disrepair and urgently need to be replaced if the theater can reopen its doors after Covid-19 and the government’s forced closure if it is safe to do so,” reads the crowdfunding page Brookside Theater.

“The original wooden frames are now dangerous, lazy and barely hold the glass.

“New windows would not only significantly improve public safety, but also the aesthetics, security and energy efficiency of these historic buildings.”

The residents can support the theater on their crowdfunding page.
