More than 150 companies requested the opportunity to present their cleantech innovations to potential investors and dedicated industry experts at the 26th annual event.

Forty companies have been selected to participate in the US Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) industry growth forum, which will be held again this year. More than 150 companies requested the opportunity to present their cleantech innovations to potential investors and dedicated industry experts at the 26th annual event.

Of the selected companies, a dozen were incorporated outside of the United States.

“We are under pressure worldwide to reduce negative climate impacts and to ensure clean water, clean air and sustainable energy and food systems,” said Sheila Ebbitt, program manager of the Industry Growth Forum. “We have received applications from around the world and from various technology sectors. It was a challenge for our investor selection committee to narrow the selection down to the top 40 startups.”

This year’s Industry Growth Forum will take place online from April 20-22. The event, hosted by NREL, has become the nation’s leading forum for investing in clean energy.
