Sistine Solar’s award-winning SolarSkin ™ technology is used in Universal Orlando’s flagship installation

Sistine Solar’s patented SolarSkin ™ technology brings the world’s first custom branded floating solar array to life

Sistine Solar today announced the use of its award-winning, patented SolarSkin ™ technology in the world’s first custom branded floating solar system at Universal Orlando. SolarSkin was used to display the brand name and iconic peacock logo of the park’s parent company, Comcast. The 250 kW array is a fine example of the popular theme park’s commitment to green energy and sustainability.

SolarSkin is a fully customizable graphic overlay that can be printed with any artwork and applied to any solar array. It enables companies to move to solar power while celebrating their commitment to sustainability in an eye-catching way by adding custom graphics, branding colors and logos. The array is located at the entrance to the theme park and has 645 highly efficient solar panels. It was installed by leading floating solar developer D3Energy. This unique installation supplies the theme park with electricity and is immediately recognizable from the nearby roller coasters.

“We are proud to have been selected for this exciting project. As the most efficient aesthetic solar technology on the market, SolarSkin was the perfect solution to achieve the branding and full color logo desired by Comcast and Universal Orlando,” said Senthil Balasubramanian. CEO of Sistine Solar. “This groundbreaking installation will be visible to the estimated 11 million theme park visitors each year. We expect it will inspire other brands to use solar and use the power of SolarSkin to create beautiful works of art.”

Solar as a branded medium is a new offering from Sistine Solar that expands the solar market. According to the Solar Energy Industries Association, US companies had installed approximately 8.3 GW of solar by 2019. However, this represents less than 1% of the total electricity generated in the country. “SolarSkin is dramatically changing the way customers perceive solar,” said Balasubramanian. “We’re seeing growing demand from a wide variety of industries – airports, car dealerships, theme parks, carports to name a few. SolarSkin’s customizability has attracted broad interest from Fortune 500 companies to the world’s leading solar developers and developers Installers. ”
