Capricorn Equestrian Centre Update

Each year at Capricorn Equestrian Centre we host the Yarraman Charity Gymkhana, where we raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation and the Rockhampton Riding for the disabled.

Through generous sponsorship of our Charity Gymkhana in 2021 many local businesses were a part of raising $5600 which we divided equally between the Leukaemia Foundation and our local Riding for the Disabled Association in Rockhampton.

Our 2022 Gymkhana which will be on Sunday, 18 September at the Capricorn Equestrian Centre on Mt. Wheeler Road, via Mackays Road Bondoola.

We are looking forward to more thrills and hopefully not too many spills, whilst having fun on horseback at our all-ages event. We have regular gymkhana games, and then big prize money feature events, with the Barlows Open Barrel Races, and Alline Roofing Obstacle course, the first place winners receiving $300 each.

The Junior events are sponsored by Reo Heavy Machinery Repairs, Luke Hinton Concreting and Queensland Earth Moving Solutions, with plenty of prize money and ribbons to go round.

Since our first event in 2015 we have now raised $22,500, which Glen Bridgeman, Madeline Chery and Sharann Martin are very proud of!

Since starting out our major sponsors such as Barlows Earth Moving, Alline Roofing and Queensland Earth Moving Solutions have continued to support us ensuring that we can offer great prize money for the feature events.

Usually we attract around 50 to 70 riders of all ages, from tiny tots on lead lines to mature riders it’s always a fabulous day, with lots of smiles.

There will be a barbecue and refreshments available on the day for visitors who would like to see all the fun and for riders who want to dust off their saddles and join us for the action. Nominations can be made online our, website has all the details, capricornequestrian.com.au/gymkhana or call Madeline on 0413 483 850.
