SAN ANGELO — Looking for a free activity for your child this summer? A San Angelo roofing company is offering free movie tickets at Cinemark Tinseltown for children ages 6-8.
Candela Roofing will sponsor movies every Wednesday through the end of July at Cinemark, 4425 Sherwood Way, with goodie bags included. The movie showings will be around 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesdays, though the times can vary.
Laura Candela, director of the company, said this event started because of her daughters.
“Last year with COVID, my girls lost contact with a lot of their friends,” she said. “This summer, I decided to do this, so I sent a flyer out to my girls classrooms offering to pay for a movie.”
Candela said she also wanted to give back to the people of San Angelo.
“We’ve been in business for 20 years and the community has always helped us so much, so we wanted to give back to them,” she said.
Candela said the kids don’t have to be ages 6-8; they can be younger if accompanied by an adult. Older kids can also attend.
Tickets are on a first come, first serve basis. People can reserve their child’s spot by calling 325-227-6825 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject “Summer Fun”.
Here is the schedule of movies for the summer:
June 30: How to Train your Dragon
July 7: The Lego Movie 2
July 14: Angry Birds 2
July 21: Dora and the Lost City of Gold
